From the moment I met J.W. Cortes, I knew I was meeting a human being that I would want to have next to me if the chips were down. His character and gentleness spoke volumes about where he had been, what he believed in, and that he was grateful to be standing there that day. It is a wondrous thing how art removes all boundaries and veils between people for the short time they get to be together to create something that is more than the sum of their parts.
