From todays Remarkable Times, Peoria Public Schools Newsletter: Carrara-OBrien named Employee of the Month Cathy Carrara-O’Brien, Speech Language Pathologist at Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Center is the October 2014 Employee of the Month. Carrara-O’Brien was nominated by Valeska Hinton School Social Worker Brittany Perkins. “Cathy is always looking out for the best interest of the children and helps her co-workers in any way she can. She brings a positive attitude to any situation and has a true passion for speech therapy and working with children. She puts others before herself and does it with a smile on her face.” says Perkins. Perkins also cited Carrara-O’Brien’s collaborative work efforts with parents and co-workers. “She makes parents feel comfortable during meetings and explains tests results in a ‘parent-friendly’ manner. She respects everyone’s point of view and is willing to learn new information whenever she can.” Congratulations, Cathy Carrara-O’Brien!
