From: [email protected] Subject: Call to reinstate Alan Langmaid To: [email protected] CC: [email protected] Date: Thu, 15 Aug 2013 18:00:25 +0100 As we have reached the end of the first week of deliberations, it may be helpful to summarise the position thus far. 1. Your economic justification for the removal of the post of Heritage Officer, that it was essential to save £21K p.a. to compensate for the failure to save £4K p.a., is manifestly bogus. 2. Your claim that the Museum Trust refused to negotiate the relocation of the TIC to the museum can be refuted by at least four witnesses. 3. The consequence of the unwarranted cloak of secrecy and obfuscation under which you sought to conceal your intentions, is that no legitimate record of a resolution to abolish the post exists in the public domain. 4. Your treatment of Alan Langmaid, based on false logic, dubious claim and unconstitutional action, is arguably not redundancy, but wrongful dismissal. I invite you to make a public announcement to the effect that on reconsideration of the matters of the abolition of the post of Heritage Officer and the redundancy of Alan Langmaid, a number of procedural flaws have been identified, and both decisions have been declared null and void. In the event that you fail to accede to this request, I unreservedly pledge my full financial support to Alan Langmaid should he wish to take proceedings against Totnes Town Council for wrongful dismissal.
