Frustrated Port Chester Mayor Refuses To Run For Second Term Neil Pagano Is Out Of The Picture For March 18th Election At the last Port Chester Board of Trustees Meeting one term Mayor Neil Pagano says that after discussions with family and business associates that he will not seek re-election or support anyone else. Mr. Pagano will serve out his term which ends in early April of this year Many Port Chester residents have complained at meetings that there has been no progress with the bulkhead and economic development in the village. Other village residents have been anger over the current mayor and boards decision to spend over $400,000 to study if they should build another village hall.. But the issue that has village residents the most enraged is that current republican majority on the board has went from virtually no code enforcement to the other extreme and are unnecessarily hurting Port Chester homeowners and seniors. There is a sense that republican board majority is not listening to taxpayers. Supporters of the Port Chester Dog Park group feel that they have been repeatedly disrespected by the current board. Trustee Gene Ceccarelli, who ran and won as an independent candidate in the 2013 election, has told Port Chester political insiders that he considering switching sides to run as a republican. Mr. Ceccarelli has been an unsuccessful candidate in the election before that. Former trustee Bart Didden is also rumored to be interested in the republican line for mayor. Mr. Didden lost his reelection bid in 2013. The republican caucus is on January 26th at the Thai restaurant, Euro Asian Bistro, located at 10 Westchester Avenue. Six Year Port Chester Mayor Dennis Pilla has been repeatedly approached by Port Chester residents to return to office. The villages financial condition and bond ratings improved under Mr. Pillas tenure in office. Mr. Pilla has been quoted saying,Port Chester is a wonderful village and our residents deserve much better. The Port Chester Democratic caucus will be held on January 27th at 7:30 PM at at the Port Chester Carver Center at 400 Westchester Avenue.
