Frustrated with this health insurance mess...If I want to be in compliance with the law, The kids and I need insurance. Since Im now self-employed and my business hasnt generated any income yet, I dont have the money for full policies. I should qualify for a subsidy, but it appears that I dont qualify since Lauren has the option to add the kids and I to her policy at a cost of around $1100/mo. Looks like we may be paying a fine at the end of the year. Oh yeah...attending UNCG might have a bearing on the insurance issue too....They require students to have full coverage and if they dont, they purchase it for them and bill it to their student account - so, yay! If I cant afford insurance, I get to pay for it with student loans and still pay the mandate penalty since I couldnt get coverage before the deadline!
