IT’S OFFICIAL: FLAPPY BIRD WILL RETURN TO APP STORES If you’ve just gotten over your addiction to Flappy Bird, we have some bad, bad news for you: it’s coming back to app stores. Creator Dong Nguyen, who pulled the maddeningly more-ish game earlier this year over fears for his own and players’ mental wellbeing, told a Twitter user that it’d be back at some point “but not soon”. The implication is that Nguyen either wants to make some improvements to the game, or else get mentally prepared for the social media abuse he’s sure to receive from a whole new generation of hopelessly addicted mobile gamers... THE COEN BROTHERS’ FARGO TV SERIES GETS A REAL TRAILER The Coen brothers have hitherto made movies and stayed away from the small screen, but that’s all set to change in mid-April when US TV channel FX starts broadcasting Fargo, a series produced by the Coens and loosely based on their Oscar-winning movie of the same name. The 10-part series boasts a stellar cast including Martin Freeman, Billy Bob Thornton and Breaking Bad’s Bob Odenkirk, and promises to maintain the pitch-black comedy and somewhat surreal feel of the film. Channel 4 has bought the rights to broadcast it in the UK, and says it will be on screens “shortly after” its American broadcast. RUMOUR: TITANFALL 2 IS COMING – AND IT WON’T BE A MICROSOFT EXCLUSIVE Electronic Arts has reportedly signed a deal to publish the next Titanfall instalment, and unlike the first game (which was released last week) it won’t be exclusive to Microsoft platforms. Titanfall is available only for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows, but GameSpot claims the new deal will allow EA to release it on PlayStation 4 too. That jibes well with a tweet from Titanfall developer Respawn’s Vince Zampella in October last year: he said that Respawn would eventually be making games for the PS4. EA declined to comment on the report. GOOGLE SEARCH FOR ANDROID GETS NEW VOICE COMMANDS Google has updated the Search app for Android, and among the changes are a couple of new “OK, Google” voice commands: say “take a video” or “take a photo” and your phone or tablet’s camera app will pop open straight away. The update is available now from the Google Play Store.
