FunMasters management would like to apologise for the unfortunate - TopicsExpress

FunMasters management would like to apologise for the unfortunate incidents that occurred on the 4th October 2014 at our event. To those that got hurt, we ask that you find it in your heart to forgive us. We also like to state that as much as we are a business, financial gratification is not our primary goal but the safety and experience of our patrons is. Event logistics require us to consult all necessary stakeholders months in advance to ensure that security and safety checks are adhered to. We are guided by Joc (Joint Operations Committee), which is: Ems emergency services) Saps (South African Police services) Jmpd (Johannesburg Metro Police Department) Disaster management Environmental Health Pops (Public order policing unit) Paramedics A stringent process needs to be followed in order for Joc to approve our event. The picnic was classified as a medium risk event which means that Voc (venue operations committee) comprising of these stakeholders needs to be present from beginning to end of the event to make any necessary spot decisions. Saps and Jmpd is then required to bring a fair amount of personnel, especially to assist with crowd management should the need arise. However, those requirements were not adhered to by some of the stakeholders as planned and agreed in our meetings prior to the event. Tickets were limited according to the venue capacity as prescribed by Joc and were sold out by Saturday morning. Based on this predicament a decision to release more tickets for sale could not be made due to some of the stake holders not being present. We would also like to clarify that no life was lost during our event as per the paramedics and Police reports obtained. Funmasters will always strive for excellence and hope this unforeseen debacle will not deter your faith in the brand. Regards FunMasters management
