Fundraising and fact finding A coffee morning fundraising and - TopicsExpress

Fundraising and fact finding A coffee morning fundraising and fact finding opportunity is being organised by Museum volunteers. It will take place on Saturday 21 September at Richmond Town Hall, from 8.30am to 12 noon and will also feature a-cake stall and raffle. A visitor from London recently called into the Museum and donated a large cross stitch sampler made in 1852 by a 10 year old Isobella Stoddard, who was at school in Richmond. This sampler is similar to one already on display at the museum and which was made at the same time and possibly at the same school. We would love to know more about it and hope that someone attending the coffee morning may be able to add information from their knowledge or family history. Museum Curatorial Assistant Julie Dodd said: "We were so pleased to receive this interesting sampler and are very keen to discover more about it and unravel the history behind both samplers." Museum Chairman Mike Wood said: "we get lots of people at our coffee mornings and surely someone out there could help us with this new sampler whilst enjoying a nice cup of coffee!"
