Funny calls for Luhya unity Luhyas must be a funny people, every time you will hear some wayward persons who claim to be leaders singing “ We want Luhya Unity..We are going to rally behind one of our own….our leaders must sit together and choose one person for us …we will choose one person to support.” This gibberish, there is no community in the contemporary Kenya that has attained unity via funeral and unity declaration around tea cup and a bowl of ugali na Ingokho. There was no time Raila sat down with Orengo, Ochuodho, Dalmas Otieno, Donde, and Nyogo before 1997 general election to crown Raila as a defector leader of Luo Nyanza. Raila had to battle it out and defeat the rebels. A critical look into how the above leaders managed to rally their people behind them indicate that they carried the aspirations of their respective communities, or they simply made their communities to believe that they were leading them in the correct direction. Secondly, the above defacto leaders of various communities were apt in reading the mood of their people, thus able to make correct political choices. A leader who cannot inspire his people for wrong or good and cannot read the mood of electorates is not worth following. Only dimwits can follow such persons, for they are all nincompoops. Luhya unity will not only be attained when there arose a leader from luhyaland worth universally inspiring and correctly reading the mood of the electorate in Luhyaland but also the rest of the country
