Funny story to go along with my ticket.... Im in the car with all 5 kidlets when I get stopped. They all know that I got my other ticket a few weeks ago. so when the police officer asked when my last ticket was I told him probably 5/10 years ago. I was thinking speeding tickets, not tickets in general. He turned and walked away with my license and ownership while I scrambled to find insurance cards for my new truck. He hadnt taken two steps away when the kids all said what about your ticket a few weeks ago! You lied! To which I said holy crap I dont want him thinking Im devious in my intent. A slight panic sets in throughout the car. A few of the kids think I have just placed myself into jail by not being honest. The other two are telling me I need to go tell him which I also agree. But Im under the impression (yes from cops- the tv show!) that police officers dont like you to get out of the car and approach them. So I tell them I dont think getting out is a good idea. Within seconds I am being thrown suggestion after suggestion on how to get his attention. One of them being for me to slowly get out of the car, put my hands on my head, say excuse me sir I mean no harmand then safely proceed to the police car. (I think theyve seen the same cops as me!!) Then I hear Turner Spoljaric respond to the idea I dont necessarily think that is a good idea. That kind of screams criminal and you are dressed all in black. How do you not laugh at that??!! Btw- I didnt get out of the car but I did tell him about the ticket when he got back.
