Further to complains received on the unbearable conditions at Canada Hills popular hiking trail by regular hikers caused by the infestation of mosquitos during the current wet season. Cr Keith Chin & myself had seeked the assistance of the private sector to initiate a Fogging exercise today which we hope would jump start a continued fogging program by Majlis Bandaraya Miri. The hiking trail is patronised by almost 1000 hikers a week, therefore we feel that this program is important to keep the trails safe and pleasant to promote Miri as a healthy & liveable city. Other suggestions received from regular hiker Lionel Brodie was for benches to be installed at this popular hiking area. We will propose for Council to initiate sighting for these benches and hopefully have this request for filled either by Council or the private sector. #brucechai #majulahmiri
