Furthermore to this morning’s report of the rainfall totals - TopicsExpress

Furthermore to this morning’s report of the rainfall totals across the top end, it will be good to monitor the rainfall across inland parts of northern WA and extending further south than that even over the next 5 or even 6 days. Despite moving well inland over the coming days, models continue to have the system holding good structure and strength and delivering solid rainfall on its travels. So despite the system not reaching cyclone intensity, its effects cannot be dismissed. I know many followers in QLD are looking out for much needed rains (though the far north coast has faired well over the past week), however there isnt much good news for most in the short term (1-2 weeks). It is the wet season though and with a relatively active monsoon things can change. Sights will start to be divided between the deep monsoon low over in the west and a developing Coral Sea low near the Solomon Islands currently. The BoM have got the Coral Sea system as a moderate chance of developing on Friday and Saturday on their latest cyclone outlook. As said previously however through our posts and videos, this low is not expected to impact on the QLD coastline other than increased swell possible along the southern coast. (Dylan)
