Mid-Atlantic Italian Greyhound Club of Central Maryland (MAIGC) Large Gazehound Racing Association (LGRA) - 200 yard sprints Event # T116A & T117A Fort Mott State Park, 454 Fort Mott Rd., Pennsville, NJ 08070 April 26 & 27, 2013 ELIGIBILITY * Open to purebred Afghan Hounds, Azawakhs, Basenji, Borzoi, Chart Polski, Cirneco dell’Etna, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Magyar Agar, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Silken Windhouds, and Sloughi. * Hounds must be one year of age or older to be eligible, and must not be lame, sick or in season. * Each hound must have a completed and signed entry form. Those with First Time Entered (FTE) hounds must attach a photocopy of your dog’s registration to your entry form, along with a one-time $2.00 registration fee. * If your adopted NGA Greyhound does not have an AKC, ILP, NGA or other registration number, please make sure ALL other information is filled out on the entry form, including ear tattoo numbers, certificate and volume number. * HOUNDS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER WITHOUT A COMPLETED AND SIGNED ENTRY FORM. A completed entry includes the photocopy of the dog’s registration for FTEs!!! * The following registries are approved by LGRA: American Kennel Club (AKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), United Kennel Club (UKC), National Greyhound Association (NGA), or any recognized foreign registry for pure-bred progeny of Gazehound breeds. Hounds registered with the AKC under Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) or Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL), UKC Limited Privilege (LP) and CKC Performance Event Number (PEN) equivalent may also be registered. ENTRIES * Pre-entries: $12.00 first dog per owner, $10 additional dogs, same owner. Five or more dogs, same owner, $50.00. Pre-entries close Thursday, April 24 at 7:00 pm. Pre-entries may be made by phone, e-mail, or snail mail. * Same-day entries: $15 per dog, no multiple entry discount. Entries close 30 min. before roll call time at the Race Secretary’s table. OTHER INFO * Inspection and roll call will begin at 9:30 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. * Race meets will be 3 program, 4 dog races, 200-yard straight sprints. * NOTE: All breeds will start from the box except IWs and SDs, which will be hand-slipped. * Schooling runs will be required for all FTE dogs before they may compete. Talk to secretary regarding your hounds experience. Box practice and schooling runs will start 30 min. before roll call for those hounds which are entered that day. The meet will begin after practice ends. * All breeds must run with muzzles and racing blankets. A limited number of muzzles and blankets will be available for loan. FTE dogs may benefit from muzzle training at home before the meet. * Ribbons for point winners. Rosettes for High Score in Breed. Turtle awards will be offered for each breed. * Additional practice sessions for unentered hounds ($3 for MAIGC members, $5 for non-members) may be offered after the meet (Saturday only) or between programs, time, weather and equipment permitting. * If youre new to LGRA, it is a sport where all participants are expected to lend a hand. Soil is well-drained/sandy. DIRECTIONS From the North: I-95 for NJ Turnpike – Take the last exit before the Delaware Memorial Bridge and get on Route 49 East. From the South via I-95: Bear R onto 295 to Del Mem Br/NJ/NY. Cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge and take the first exit (1A) in NJ for Route 49 East. Once on Route 49 East, you will travel about 3 miles, then turn right onto Fort Mott Road (at a light). Go 3 miles on Fort Mott Road. (If you come to any forks in the road and are unsure, bear to the right). Turn into the park at the first entrance--it says Private Drive, or look for the MAIGC LGRA sign. Drive around the white building, we’re on the other side.. ACCOMMODATIONS Please contact the individual hotel for complete information (some restrictions may apply, and our information may be old).
