G2 (Moderate) Geomagnetic Storming Expected Region 2036 produced an impulsive R2 (Moderate) Solar Flare Radio Blackout event at 1303 UTC (9:03 a.m. EDT) on April 18th. Given the coronal mass ejection associated with this event and another observed on the 17th, the combined effects are expected to drive G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storming on the 20th with G1 (Minor) storming continuing through the 21st. Additionally, the S1 (Minor) radiation storm that occurred as a result of this eruption continues. There are several regions on the disk with the potential for continued activity so stay tuned for updates.
