Procurement of of assorted fertilizer and chemicals from 2007 to date worth N5billion. 2. Procurement pf pest contre chemicals for the control of grasshopper, army worms etc. worth N22 Million. 3. Launching of e-wallet fertilizer sales to farmers at a discount rate in which 300,000 farmers are to benefit from the N1.6 billion worth of fertilizer allocated to the State. 4. Renovation and Reactivation of farm centers in the state. 5. Supply of grains worth N1 Billion to the state buffer stock. 6. Revival of cotton production in which about 10,000 Farmers have bee. registered. The ministry has entered into partinarship with WACOT NIG. LTD for the purchase of all cotton grown by farmers in the State. 7. Purchase of Agro chemicals consisting on herbicides, Insecticides, seeds and sprayers worth N200 Million to boost food production.... 8. Purchase of 10 MF 375 E Tractors at the cost of N73 Million.... 9. 23 Tractors were purchased under pilot Tractors loan scheme at tha cost of N72.1 Million.... 10. Another 22 new MF 375 Tractors were purchased and 28 old tractors were refurbished at a total cost of N249,425,500.00..... 11. Supply of 1,200 Units of power tiller tractors worth N500 Million.... 12. Construction of mordern indoor fish hatchery at Gubi fish farm in a bid to increase the protein intake of the people of the state.... 13. Government has paid all its counterpart contributions for the implementation of Fadama III, CBARP and RUFIN.... 14. Payment of hazard allowances/other special allowances to all agricultural personnel..... 15. Completion of 4,000 metric tones capacity grain silos at Boto at the cost of N140 Million..... 16. Recruitment of 265 staff to enhance extension service delivery..... 17. Training of 20,000 farmers on sasakawa Global 2000 Technology..... 18. 11,150 economic tree seedlings of different varieties including rainfed mangoes were distributed to farmers for planting to boost their economic fortune.... 19. Training of 5,000 youth as contract sprayers in a bid to empower them.... 20. Sesame Production and marketing was promoted in over 5,000 communities in the state thus earning Bauchi state as the 2nd producer of the commodity in Nigeria.. . 21. 1,307 units of water pumps disbursed as loan and boreholes drilled as part of the loan package..... 22. procurement of 3,800 brood stock for hatchery and 1.02 million fries hathed which were sold to farmers at subsidized price..... 23. 180 farmers trained on fish hatchery techniques and fish feed formation.... 24. The state Government paid its counterpart funds for CBARDP and NPFS to the tune of N166 million and N74.8 million respectively..... 25. N52.28 million loan given to Fadama farmers..... 26. 675 women trained on pomade, beads and food fortification in 27 Rural villages. ....... To be continued Insha Allah. .....,................................... ............................... Continuetion.......................... PART 2. .....FADAMA III PROJECT..... The main objective of this project is to increase the income of users of rural, land and water resourses on a sustainable basis to enhance growth in sectors other than oil in order to achieve sufficient food security andbto reduce poverty as well create employment in the rural areas. This third phase of the project covers all the 20 LGAs (of the Bauchi State, sequel to the successiful implimentation of the second phase in 12 LGAs which was launched on June12, 2010 at Ganjuwa LG by H.E., Governor Isa Yuguda. The funding arrengement is that, the state counterpart contribution is N36 million annually, benefitting LGs contribution, N40 million annually while the loan allocated to Bauchi State by the world Bank is $4.168 million. The project so far provided jobs for 3,410 people who are gainfully employed. The jobs provided are mainly from processing, spraying, animal breeding/ rearing sub-projects Noticeable achievement of this project is the fulfulment of subsidiary agreement for the 100% payment of counterpart contributions for both state and LG. This was remarked as highly commendable by the World Bank. Other progress made from studies cunducted at mid-term of the project showed that an average income of N118,483.17 was released from beneficiaries of the projects from a baseline income of N93,487.02 this represent 26.7% increase in income since the take off of the project in 2009. The project has successifully supported communities in acquiring productive assets, rural infrustracture and creating employment opportunities in the rural areas for youth and women, inline with the State Govt. policy on poverty alliviation, rural devt. and job creation for teeming unemployed youth.
