International Cricket Council appoints five cricketers as its ambassadors for the World Cup 2015 to be held in Australia and New Zealand. - These are: Virat Kohli, Kumar Sangakkara, Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson and Brendon McCullum. 2. Rohit Sharma becomes the highest scorer in an ODI inning with a mammoth score of 264 against Sri Lanka. - He now is the only cricketer to smash two double centuries in ODIs - the previous being 209 against Australia at Bangalore in November 2013. - Other double centurion in ODI: Sachin Tendulkar (200) and Virender Sehwag (219) 3. Grant of Indian citizenship to minority community nationals of Pakistan and Afghanistan is made easy. - Everyone who entered India prior to December 31, 2009, can now apply for Indian Citizenship offline as well. - Earlier only online applications with passports was needed to apply for this. - Moreover, the children of these parents - born in any of the two country and without passport - can also apply for the grant of Indian Citizenship after regularization of their stay in India. - These children will have to register with the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) of the concerned district for the regularization. 4. India-China joint training exercise Hand in Hand 2014 to begin at Pune from November 16. - Its the 4th edition of this joint training exercise between the two giants and second in India after 2nd edition at Belgaum in 2008. - China has hosted the inaugural drill in 2007 and 3rd one in 2013. 5.
