GALA DINNER FOR THE NEW EXEC MAYOR Glacier Nkhwashu Nkakareng Ragoale becomes the first female executive mayor for the district of Mopani which houses Greater Tzaneen, Greater Giyani, Greater Letaba and Maruleng local municipalities. She was appointed after Joshua Matlou was fired by the ANC a week ago for underperforming. The congratulatory successful gala dinner took place in Tzaneen on Saturday and was attended by the Mopani born MECs, MPs, MPLs and Mayors. Over 100 guests came to witness and congratulate Nkakareng on her new appointment. Motivational speakers and entertainers were all women. Representing the Progressive Womens Movement of South Africa, Makoma Rasekgale warned Nkakareng that on her journey as a leader of the four municipalities, there will be men who will undermine her because shes a woman. Andri Kruger, the Limpopo Tourism Director and a businesswoman, said it is all about passion. One woman can do anything that can be done by a group of powerful men, she said. Pulane Modika, a motivational speaker, said: We are women of substance. And women must always remember that what matters in life is the future not where you come from. The Greater Tzaneen Mayor Dikeledi Mmetle said she believes the new female executive mayor will continue to be a positive force in the lives of the Mopani women, children and not forgetting the people living with disability.
