GANGA - CLEAN UP-VS-INDIA CLEAN UP: In election campaign, Modi allured people of cleaning up Ganga, India clean up is a very recent addition. The India clean up is also important, but it is more a localised problem confining to state administration and of course with liberal availability of central funds. The clean up Ganga is a national project, with huge budgetary support and creation of a ministry for the purpose. The Ganga clean up should start right earnest, the progress must be intensively reviewed at least once in three months. The state governments in the gangetic-stretch must be involved and concerted effort is required in the direction. 2.As for India cleaning is concerned, the state governments should be instructed and liberal grants should be made available with a matching provision from the states. This aspect of work should be consistently monitored and compliance reported to the centre. 3.The centre should not involve in India clean up, except evaluating the progress by a government agency. They must concentrate on Ganga project.
