#GANTSI RESIDENTS COOPERATE WITH HIV TESTING CENTRE The Tebelopele Voluntary Testing and Counselling Coordinator in Gantsi says they manage to reach their monthly target of clients who visit the centre to test for the HIV virus. Oreneile Kristensen revealed this in an interview with Gabz fm that their monthly target is 300 and they meet that though Gantsi a small population. She said they make regular visits to the farms surrounding Gantsi to test employees by arranging with the farmers to release their employees. She however decried the lack of cooperation by some farmers who refuse to release their employees saying this halts production at their farms. She revealed that HIV prevalence on the farms is still very low which is attributed to the faithfulness of couples. She added that they have embarked on visits to Charleshill to do cross border activities. They have done condom demonstrations, HIV testing, screening for TB, cancer and STI targeting long distance truck drivers whom she said are always willing to test. Kristensen also said they also test the population that interacts with truck drivers and added that they too are always willing to test for the virus.
