GBM TELLS PF TO RALLY BEHIND SATA, REFUSES TO BE EXPELLED FROM PARTY In a message clarifying his position with regard to where he stands with the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party, Kasama Central (PF) Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has said he has refused to be forced out of the party and asked PF members to rally behind its Party and Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata. Mr. Mwamba said this in a statement on his facebook page. What follows is his statement in part: “I was happy to meet with PF members in Mkushi and Serenje on my way to Kasama Constituency. My message to them was that PF needs to rally behind the leadership of President Michael Sata and remain united. They also wanted to know whether I had been expelled from the party. I stated categorically that I remain a loyal member of PF and I have refused to be forced out of a party I have contributed and sacrificed so much for. I also reminded them that when I led the endorsement campaign, I did so being fully aware that there were forces bent on maligning PF loyalists to the extent of sabotaging an agenda that Zambians voted PF on. Let me also mention that a few hours ago, I got a call from Fred Mmembes Post Newspaper attempting to associate me with misunderstandings in a named constituency in Lusaka. I told them that I do not need the Post Newspapers publicity and that I will not be party to their dirty schemes to forment chaos or confusion in PF to serve their narrow interests and ambitions. I will not allow my name to be dragged in their dirty game. I therefore appeal to all PF members and Zambians to remain united and resist the divide and rule tactics of such schemers.” Mwamba has been keen to lately state his stand on many issues plaguing his party including the perceived feet dragging of government to compel defunct Zambian Airways and its shareholders to pay back the money it owes to the Development Bank of Zambia.
