This case study aims to achieve the following: provide examples of how private companies perform corporate capture practices over patent laws, patent examination process, drug regulation policies, health facilities management; identify the different modalities of corporate capture practices such as lobbying (funding, trainings, cooptation), privatization, corruption (kickbacks, fraud, bribes and extortion), bilateral pressure. analyse the impact of corporate capture practices on sustainability of public health programs, the compliance of policies with a public interests perspective. describe how corporate capture leads actors to deploy law and policies in ways to reinforce, deepen, and exacerbate inequalities in healthcare. The following researcher positions are open: A researcher to carry out literature, legislation and media coverage review (first draft expected on 23 January 2015; expected salary – 2,500 Euro) A researcher to design 2 interview guides, conduct 4 interviews, perform the subsequent analysis (first draft for the guide – 25 December 2015; analysis of the interviews – 2 February 2015; expected salary – 1,700 Euro) A researcher to perform stakeholder analysis (February commencement; first draft expected on 16 February 2015; expected salary – 1,100 Euro) Deadline for applications is Friday, 12 December, 2014 by 12 noon GMT+3.
