GDC Rajouri celebrates Gandhi Jyanti ARIF QURESHI RAJOURI, OCT 2 Government Degree College Rajouri celebrated celebrated the birthdays of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on Wednesday in which students of post graduate and graduate classes participated. The programme was chaired by Mohd Saleem Khan Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri and presided over by the Principal GDC Rajouri Dr. J. A. Qazi whereas Dr. M. K. Waqar graced the occasion as guest of honour. The Chief Guest congratulated the Principal, staff and students for attaching so much importance the theme of Communal Harmony on the revered day of Mahatma’s birthday. He said Gandhi stood for peace, justice truth, non-violence and communal harmony and created history by sacrificing his life for the purpose. The programme was coordinated by Prof. Haqeeqat Singh Ishar Head Cultural Committee and proceedings on the dais were conducted by Prof. Iqbal Raina, Rahul Mahajan and Shagum Sharma. The judges of the event Prof. Farooq Mirza, Prof. Bashir Ahmed and Prof. Y.P. Sharma declared Tooba Waqar, Waseem Raja, Amit Singh & Bazam Mir as 1st, 2nd & 3rd positioners. Prof. Asif Ajaz Lone the staff secretary of the College presented the vote of thanks.
