GDI signs QR5.2 billion of contracts with QP for the provision of onshore and offshore rigs Gulf Drilling International Ltd. (GDI), a subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS), the largest oilfield service company in Qatar, officially signed four new contracts and four contract extensions with Qatar Petroleum (QP) for the provision of drilling rig services, each having a term of five years. The new contracts have been concluded for the provision of two new offshore drilling rigs “Dukhan” and Halul and two new land rigs GDI-7 and GDI-8; while contract extensions allow the continuation of services performed by four land rigs GDI-1, GDI-2, GDI-3 and GDI-4. The awarding of these contracts was announced in previous reports. The contracts were signed by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and the Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, and Mr. Ibrahim J. Al-Othman, the Chief Executive Officer of GDI. It was attended by Mr. Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, Director of Oil & Gas Ventures at Qatar Petroleum. The combined value of the new contracts and contract extensions, which were announced earlier by GDI, total QR5.2 billion. They represent the largest single GDI client commitment since it was established 10 years ago. In comments at the signing ceremony, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada said “the new contracts will allow continuing, as well as expanding, the important development work Qatar Petroleum is undertaking. Each of the contracted rigs is being customized to meet the best in class criteria specified by Qatar Petroleum.” His Excellency praised the high quality of services provided by GDI, and the level of commitment and dedication it has demonstrated to achieve its challenging goals. Ibrahim J. Al Othman, Chief Executive Officer of GDI took the opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation of H.E. Dr. Mohammad Bin Saleh Al Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry, and the GDI Board of Directors for their continuous support and guidance. Mr. Al-Othman said “GDI fully appreciates the value of the partnership that has been developed with Qatar Petroleum” he added “ these contracts will positively impact our revenue growth immediately which will positively reflect on our profitability for this year and the next five years Furthermore, the addition of a new offshore rig for QP “Halul” in 2016 will greatly support our long term revenue growth plans.. By mid-2016, GDI will have a total of eighteen drilling rigs. In addition to one accommodation jack-up and two Liftboats. The new offshore drilling rig Halul is currently being built to the proven Mod VB Bigfoot design, similar to the recently delivered rig “Dukhan.” These rigs are expected to be placed into service in Q-4 of 2014 and Q2 of 2016, respectively. These offshore rigs will be the newest rigs in GDI’s fleet. Each rig will come complete with a centrifuge system for solids control, extra bulk hoppers on deck, 7,500 psi mud pumps, a 15,000 psi choke manifold, 150 man accommodation, 10,000 HP power packages, off-line building stands, and a 75 foot cantilever outreach. The two new land rigs are currently under construction in the USA. GDI-7 will be a 1500HP rig while GDI-8 will be a 3000HP rig, making it the biggest land rig in GDI’s fleet. The bigger rig will provide GDI with the capability of drilling deeper wells and executing extended reach wells to a much greater depth. The land rigs will also come with a number of ancillary assets that are required to support a land operation. Ancillary assets include water well rigs, mobile cranes, trucks and trailers. GDI’s onshore base camp, workshop, storage yards, warehouses and accommodation facilities are also being expanded to support the additional work. They are expected to be received and placed into service during the second half of 2015. The four existing land rigs GDI-1, GDI-2, GDI-3 and GDI-4 are already working under contracts to QP and GDI will continue to utilize them at the highest operational standard. GDI is also in the process of recruiting additional personnel and providing the necessary training, certification and orientation so that they can man and operate these rigs in a safe and efficient manner. قطر للبترول والخليج العالمية للحفر توقعان عدة عقود لمنصات حفر برية وبحرية بقيمة 5.2 مليار ريال قطري وقعت قطر للبترول مع الخليج العالمية للحفر، التابعة لشركة الخليج الدولية للخدمات، أكبر شركة لخدمات حقول النفط في قطر، على أربعة عقود جديدة لتوفير خدمات منصات الحفر ، وعلى تمديد أربعة عقود قائمة أخرى، ولمدة خمس سنوات لكل عقد. وبناء على العقود الجديدة ستوفر الخليج العالمية للحفر منصتي حفر بحريتين جديدتين كلياً (دخان و حالول)، ومنصتين بريتين جديدتين هما (GDI-7 و GDI-8). بينما سيسمح تمديد العقود الأخرى في الاستمرار بتقديم الخدمات التي تقوم بها أربع منصات حفر برية (وهي GDI-1 و GDI-2 و GDI-3 و GDI-4). وقام بالتوقيع على هذه العقود كل من سعادة الدكتور محمد بن صالح السادة، وزير الطاقة والصناعة، رئيس مجلس إدارة قطر للبترول والعضو المنتدب ، والسيد إبراهيم جاسم العثمان، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة الخليج العالمية للحفر بحضور المهندس سعد شريدة الكعبي، مدير مشاريع النفط والغاز في قطر للبترول. وتبلغ القيمة الإجمالية للعقود الجديدة والعقود الممدة والتي كانت قد أعلنت شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر عنها سابقا، خمسة مليارات ومئتي مليون ريال قطري، وهو ما يشكل أكبر التزام من الشركة تجاه زبون واحد منذ تأسيس الشركة قبل عشر سنوات. وقد أكد سعادة الدكتور محمد بن صالح السادة خلال حفل التوقيع إن العقود الجديدة ستتيح لقطر للبترول الاستمرار والتوسع في مختلف أعمال الحفر التي تقوم بها. وأضاف سعادة الدكتور السادة أنه تم تصميم كل من منصات الحفر المتعاقد عليها بحيث توفر أفضل المعايير المحددة من قبل قطر للبترول . وقد أشاد سعادته بالمستوى العالي لنوعية الخدمات التي تقدمها شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر، وبمدى التزامها وتفانيها في تحقيق أهدافها ومواجهة مختلف التحديات. وقد انتهز السيد إبراهيم العثمان، الرئيس التنفيذي للخليج العالمية للحفر هذه المناسبة ليعرب عن امتنانه وتقديره لسعادة الدكتور محمد بن صالح السادة، وزير الطاقة والصناعة ورئيس مجلس إدارة قطر للبترول، وإلى مجلس إدارة الخليج العالمية للحفر على دعمهم وتوجيهاتهم المستمرين. وقال العثمان إن الخليج العالمية للحفر تقدّر قيمة الشراكة التي تم تطويرها مع قطر للبترول. وأضاف لقد وفرت لنا فرصة الاحتفال بمرور عشر سنوات على تأسيس شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر، مناسبة للتأمل في الانجازات التي حققتها الشركة منذ انطلاقها. وإنني على ثقة بأننا لم نكن لنحقق نموذج العمل المستدام الذي استطعنا إرساءه اليوم لضمان تحقيق فائدة طويلة الأمد للشركة بدون قطر للبترول، التي تعتبر أكبر عملائنا. وأضاف قائلاً إن هذه العقود ستعزز من أرباح الشركة بشكل مباشر هذا العام وعلى الأمد الطويل وتضمن النمو المطرد لأسطول الشركة وبحلول منتصف عام 2016 ستمتلك شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر ثماني عشرة منصة حفر، بالإضافة إلى منصة إقامة ثابتة ومنصتي إقامة ذات رفع ذاتي. ومن الجدير بالذكر أن منصة الحفر الجديدة حالول يجري حالياً بناؤها في حوض لبناء السفن في سنغافورة وذلك وفقاً لتصميم Mod VB Bigfoot . والمشابهة تماما لمنصة الحفر ( دخان ) التي تم استلامها حديثاً .ومن المتوقع أن يتم وضع منصتي الحفر هاتين حيز الخدمة في الربع الرابع من عام 2014 و الربع الثاني من عام 2016 على التوالي. وتعتبر هذه المنصات البحرية الأحدث في أسطول شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر من طراز Mod VB Bigfoot وستكون كل منصة مزودة بنظام كامل للطرد المركزي لتأمين مراقبة المواد الصلبة، وقواديس كتل إضافية ومضخات للطين سعة 7500 رطل، وأنبوب متعدد فتحات السحب سعة 15000 رطل ، وسكن استيعابي 150 عامل، ومجموعات طاقة 10,000 حصان، ومدرجات بناء خارج الخط، وقنطرة خارجية بطول 75 قدما. ويجري حاليا بناء المنصتين الجديدتين للحفر البري في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية حيث تبلغ طاقة المنصة GDI-7 1500 حصان، أماGDI-8 فتبلغ 3000 حصان مما يجعلها أكبر منصة حفر بري في أسطول شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر . وستوفر الأخيرة قدرة حفر آبار أكثر عمقا، وإمكانية تحقيق حفر آبار ذات عمق أكبر. وستكون هذه المنصات مزودة بعدد من التجهيزات والمعدات الإضافية اللازمة لدعم العمليات البرية ويشمل ذلك منصات حفر آبار المياه، والروافع المتحركة، والشاحنات والمقطورات. ويجري أيضا توسعة موقع العمل الرئيسي البري لشركة الخليج العالمية للحفر والورش وساحات التخزين والمستودعات والمنشآت السكنية التابعة لها لدعم الأعمال الإضافية. ومن المتوقع أن يتم استلامها وتصبح جاهزة للخدمة خلال النصف الثاني من عام 2015. علما أن منصات الحفر البرية الأربعة (GDI-3, GDI-2, GDI-1 و GDI-4) هي في الخدمة الآن وفق عقود مع قطر للبترول، وسوف تستمر شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر في استخدامها وفق أعلى معايير التشغيل. وتسعى شركة الخليج العالمية للحفر لتوظيف المزيد من الكوادر البشرية وتوفير التدريب والتأهيل اللازم لهم ليكونوا قادرين على إدارة وتشغيل هذه الحفارات بطرق آمنة وفعالة.
