GDay All. Once again, the State Government comes out to deliberately cause stress and anxiety in the Veteran Community! Going to great pains to blame lack of Federal Government funding to find means of cutting costs in State expenditure. So, what do they target? The only hospital that can cater for persons with war caused injuries and illnesses, that covers an area from Adelaide to Darwin to Broken Hill. And why that particular target? Because Ex Service and Serving personnel will do as they are told! They will allow their chosen/appointed Leaders to make decisions for them! Well, where are our chosen Leaders now? Why are we, the members of a number of ESOs in this State, not hearing our elected representatives screaming blue bloody murder over this idiocy? Or is it that they are still living in the 20th century and are waiting for the next Meeting so they can put it on an Agenda? Or, dare I suggest, are they possibly too worried about putting their funding or awards at risk? The fact that the Government maggots have the temerity to even suggest something like the closure of RGH Daw Park should be ample warning to all S.A., N.T., and Broken Hill veterans how much contempt and disrespect they hold for our Service! We need need to take preemptive action on this matter. This is not just a simple e mail campaign! Registered Snail Mail letters of protest to both your State and Federal Members of Parliament! Followed up by face to face appointments at the earliest possible time to express your anger and disappointment. Need to stress, the urgency and frequency of this action is the only way we, and our families can put pressure on both governments to discontinue this ridiculous farce! Consider this, We supposedly have Veterans S.A., Veterans Advisory Council. Veterans Health Advisory Council, Department of Veterans Affairs, and a plethora of Ex Service Organisations established which the State Government vowed would consult with on any issues that affected veterans at the RGH, yet time and again, consultation and notification has been totally ignored! So please, do not waste time hoping your so called Presidents and or Secretaries are going to do this on your behalf. Do it for yourself, your mates and our young people that are going to need the RGH long after we have gone!
