GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT THE FIRST NDIAN ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT FORUM DECEMBER 18-21 2014 AT MUNDEMBA, NDIAN-CAMEROON Distinguished Sons and Daughters of Ndian The Secretariat of Federation of Environment and Ecological Diversity for Agricultural Revampment and Human Rights, a Cameroon based Non-Profit Organization in Special Consultation to the United Nations Economic Council in collaboration with the Oroko Development Foundation, Inc., United States of America and MONASTY SYNERGY LTD, GHANA, is organizing the FIRST NDIAN ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT FORUM scheduled to hold from December 18-21, 2014 in Mundemba, Ndian division , South West Region - Cameroon. The goal of this forum is to deliberate on economic and developmental issues and challenges affecting Ndian division. Aims of Forum The aims of this forum amongst others are:- • To oversee the challenges such as unemployment, inadequate educational infrastructure, telecommunication infrastructures; • The lack of research opportunities and extreme poverty in Ndian Communities; • The shrinking of Ndian Villages and socio-economic challenges affecting the people of Ndian division. • To monitor indigenes’ participation in the government vis-à-vis their contributions to the overall development and the eradication of underdevelopment in the division, which is endowed with enormous natural resources but with little to show for in terms of development? • Tasks and appeal to corporate entities, economic operators, contractors, elected officials and Representatives of the People on their corporate responsibilities, mandates and electoral promises respectively; • The forum shall also attempt to put in place a mechanism or a Master Plan with the view to attracting financial institutions, harnessing the tourism potentials, radio and internet services, physical and social infrastructures key to the development of Ndian division. OBJECTIVES OF THE FORUM The objectives of the Forum, amongst others are:- • To galvanize indigenes of Ndian to join hands with the Government of Cameroon in the implementation of its National Strategic Plan, • To promote Economic Development, Social integration, Curbing Unemployment, Promoting Peace and Security; and, • To strengthen the Civil Society and Private Sector in Ndian division. PARTICIPANTS The Forum is expected to bring together Ndian Professionals at home and in the Diasporas, Prominent and eminent Sons and Daughters , Politicians, Decision Makers, Civil Societies, Administrators, Investors, Consultants, Economic Operators, Local Administrators, Ministers of States, Development Partners and UN Experts. Participants and invited Guests shall include the following: • The Honourable Ministers Responsible for Roads, Education, Health, Agriculture, Forestry or their representatives. • Governor of SW Region, Administrators, Members of Parliament, Mayors, • Traditional Rulers, Presidents of all Ndian Cultural and Economic Associations in Cameroon and Abroad, Presidents of Oroko Student Associations. • Management of PAMOL, KORUP, HERAKLES, SONARA, Oil Companies Operating In Ndian, Electricity and Water Corporations, United Nations, African Union, Cameroon-Nigeria Joint Commission, International Organisations • Development Partners, Investors, Elected Representatives of the People of the region, Captains of Industry, Local Administrators • All Oroko Associations nationally and in the Diasporas, • Members of the Diplomatic Corp • Civil Society. ATTENDANCE We are, by this announcement, appealing to all sons and daughters of Ndian division to show solidarity towards the division by attending this forum. EXPECTED OUTCOME The Ndian Economic and Development Forum shall be charged with the responsibility of drafting of an Economic and Development Blueprints for Ndian Division, Republic of Cameroon following the outcomes and conclusions arrived at plenary meetings. Official Letters of Invitations Letters of invitation shall be sent out as soon as consultations with all the relevant stakeholders are concluded. Thematic Areas for Discussions: We are therefore appealing to Ndian Sons and Daughters to make contributions in writing on any of the following thematic areas for presentation and discussions during the Forum. Topic: The role and responsibilities of MPs, Mayors, Representatives of the People, Traditional rulers, administrators and Elites towards the Socio- Economic development and emancipation of Ndian division Topic: NDIAN: ECONOMIC POTENTIALS, CHALLENGES, PROSPECTS and the WAY FORWARD: Presentations on: 1. Infrastructure (Transport, Communication Energy and Oil) Efficiency Development 2. Agriculture, Family Farming 3. Water, Sanitation and Health Care 4. State of Education of a Ndian child 5. Democracy, Human Rights and the Civil Society 6. Regional Integration and Capacity Building 7. Business and Finance 8. Topic: The Ndian Woman as Development Models for the Economic Transformation of the Region.
