GET READY FOR THE GRANDMASTER! The waiting is almost over. Tonight, I will be taking a small team of 6 JASMA members to watch a special preview of Lau Kar Wai’s latest Kung Fu movie sensation THE GRANDMASTER. Tonight’s outing is a serious study trip to an entertaining and fun event. Afterwards we will go for a succulent Chinese meal and discuss the history of my Great grand teacher Ip man and how the theory and practice of Wing Chun and other martial arts studied at JASMA can be used to improve one’s life situation. We’ll be looking out for the range of stunning locations that include the snow-swept landscapes of Northeast China and the subtropical South. THE GRANDMASTER is a visually stunning, epic martial arts melodrama. It features styles such as Bagua Zhang, Xing yi quan, Ba ji quan, Wing Chun Kuen and Tang long to name but a few. (prizes for the students who identify them all correctly) The movie is about changes, choices, wether to move with the times or remain static, looking forward, looking backward, remaining vertical or being left horizontal. The magnificent 7 of JASMA will have a fantastic time at the movies tonight. We encourage you all to meet with your friends and family. Create bonds to last a lifetime.
