GLOBAL AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT - IN SUPPORT OF BLACK ENTERTAINMENT Going Bongo is the first East African film get accepted by iTunes. It is about an American doctor who is eager to impress his boss at his new position at the Beverly Hills medical centre in Los Angeles. After attending a Gala arranged by his boss, he mistakenly volunteers to go work in Africa for a month in a hospital that is in bad shape. The film was shot in Tanzania (75%) and Los Angeles, California (25%). Main actors came from Tanzania, Kenya, US, Italy. The large proportion of crew and equipment came from Nairobi and Los Angeles. The lead of the film is Tanzanian Ernest Napoleon who was formally a TV personality for Channel 5 (now EATV) and former Bongo Flava artist who went by the name of “MC Napo”. Up and coming Kenyan actress Nyokabi Gethaiga plays one of the main characters, an eccentric nurse “Tina”. Other main leads are an Italian actress Emanuela Galliusi (The Goodby Kiss, Placebo) and Ashley Olds (Teller, Harmony).
