GLOBE WIMAX MODEM HACKER ARRESTED Responding to a complaint filed by Globe Telecom Company, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group successfully entrapped Mr. Alvin P Araneta around 3:00 in the afternoon on February 5, 2014 at Trinoma Department Store, Quezon City for Violation of RA 8484 (Access Device Regulation Act of 1998). PSSUPT GILBERT C SOSA, Director of PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group revealed that the entrapment operation conducted stemmed from a complaint by Mr. Jonjon M Masiclat, Security Officer of Globe Telecom Incorporated regarding an unauthorized online sale and distribution of stolen/hacked Globe Wimax Modem thru facebook. Araneta was arrested after receiving the marked money to the poseur buyer. Recovered from him were two units of globe wimax modem worth two thousand five hundred pesos (Php 2,500.00). Acting City Prosecutor Mimi Azuela of Quezon City ordered Globe Telecome Inc. to submit other documents for further investigation of the case.
