GLORee Families. There is a local competition here in Tucson for vocalists ages 8-20. The organization hasnt put all their information online yet as they are still searching for a venue. Ive been told the kids can compete in a variety of categories including country, pop, musical theatre style. You can register for each category and registration fee is $25-$35 per category. The competition will be held the last Saturday in April or the first Saturday in May. The vocal piece needs to be 2 minutes long and can be sung to a track or if the vocalist wants to accompany themselves on an instrument this is acceptable at all. Contestants will receive feedback during the competition from 3 judges. They will call back the top 10 vocalists who will compete again. They may sing a new piece, however most students sing the same piece again. The winners are then chosen and receive prizes and an opportunity to perform on KGUN 9s The Morning Blend.
