GM FAMILY AND FRIENDS Another weekend upon us! Father God, in the precious name of Jesus, I come to You this morning with a humble yet grateful heart! I come to say thank You Father for another blessed week behind me and before me! Another weekend beginning! Father I thank You for and on behalf of all my family; my wife, my children, grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, host of cousins, in-laws and those I call friend! Thank You Lord for bringing us to another weekend! I pray Your safety, Your protection for all Your people, Your children and also for those who dont know You or refuse to accept that You are the Great I AM! Put a hedge of protection around them all! And as we go through this day, this weekend, I pray that Your people will all display You in their lives! That we will continue to be an open book, a letter which when read, it shows You in our lives. May each page bring glory to You and cause others to want to know You as we do! I pray Father that the lives of Your children bring an enormous impact on the lives of all we come in contact with this day! And Father, I, Your servant stand in need of prayer also! You know the things I need, You know Father, the desires of my heart! Strengthen me Father with a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit in my life! Open me eyes that I may see the doors Youve opened for me, my ears that I may continue to hear Your soft whisper and remain obedient to Your commands! Guide my feet, order my steps in Your Word dear Lord, let me not go astray! Now Lord, as we go through this day, may the works Ive done speak for me to Your glory! Its in the mighty, magnificent and marvelous name of Jesus the Christ and for His sake I do pray! Amen! ------- Ephesians 4:1-3 As believers, we are called to demonstrate patience in times of conflict. We have an obligation to exhibit this quality because God knows there is great power in showing restraint! To reflect Christ we must: -stay quiet when verbally attacked:others anger can feed our own and lead to a shouting match -listen without responding: lets at least listen to the concerns of others -pray for our attackers: it may seem hard because our feelings may get in the way of what God would have us do -control our thoughts: it can be tempting to dwell on the injustice of a situation instead of focusing on God and what He thinks of us -control our emotions: were to rely on the Holy Spirit to give right responses -be ready to forgive: we are to be patient when wronged and willing to release our hurt ( 2 Ti 2:24) -speak encouraging words: its good to express appreciation when someone brings a concern to our attention and ask forgiveness if weve made a mistake Theres great power in patience because so few practice it well! Responding rightly, when verbally attacked, makes an impression on non-believers wholl notice something in you that they also want! ------- Ministry Of Reconciliation & Encouragement BE ENCOURAGED AND BE AM ENCOURAGEMENT
