GOD HAS GIVEN YOU PEACE AND PROSPERITY King Solomon was king of Israel after his father king David and he appointed officials, governors, he selected, trained, empowered and supervised leaders as seen in 1 Kings 4:1-19 and all these was an example of his wisdom given by GOD. Solomon was a leader of leaders, for no wise leader does it all by themselves. A leader should know how to delegate responsibility and authority and get the job done and Solomons great wisdom enabled him to see the needs to get, train and employ the right people to meet those needs. However he enjoy peace and prosperity in his reign as king in Israel, because of his father David. The Bible says, Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing. So Solomon reigned over all kingdoms..........They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life 1 Kings 4:20-21, NKJV Bible. In the reign of Solomon the population grew robustly and it was a season of great prosperity, allowing plenty of leisure time and pursuit of good pleasures. Solomon was not a warrior or a general, but this peace in the land was achieved by King David and was enjoyed by King Solomon. So this morning JESUS is addressing HIS children, HIS servants in the vine yard, the Body of Christ that, HE has already achieve peace for us in this world and prosperity by HIS death on the Cross of Calvary, all we need to do now is to enjoy the peace and prosperity according to HIS Word and not according to the world. For it is written Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid John 14:27 NIV Bible. JESUS is saying since HE has given you peace, why are you still worried about prosperity, because if you have peace, prosperity follows. For prosperity and peace work hand in hand, where there is no peace there is not prosperity. So cheer up child of GOD and rejoice in the LORD, for HE has given you peace and prosperity. However, King Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots 1 Kings 4:26, meanwhile 2 Chronicles 9:25 is a parallel passage it says 4,000 chariots instead of 40,000, the smaller number might seems correct and the larger number is probably due to copyist error, but in what ever way the figures might come it shows Solomon multiply himself horses. Despite the peace and prosperity in Israel, Solomon did not take GODS Word seriously as he should. GOD spoke specifically to the future kings of Israel, that He shall not multiply horses for himself Deut.17:16, but Solomon did. So while enjoying GODS peace and prosperity do not violate HIS commandments and laws. Therefore, If you will only obey Me, you will eat the good things the land produces says the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY Isaiah 1:19, Good News Bible Shalom and free to share.
