GODZILLA: I remember watching a version of Godzilla as a child. It was chilling, and intense. At the end, there was an egg left over and no one seemed to do anything about it. Classic way to end a scary scifi film. I just watched the newest Godzilla with the madre. It was awesome but I fear my opinion is biased. My ancestors history can be found in the beginning of the movie and throughout in clips. You may have seen a map with the word Bikini (yes like the skimpy swimsuit many women wear). Bikini is an atoll...specifically the atoll that U.S. military men decided to test an atomic bomb on. Its still not habitable to this day but no one knew back then what the outcome of the bomb would be. Soldiers died from the radiation. Islanders were riddled with diseases caused by radiation. It was a mess. But it was certainly cool to see that history tied into the history of Godzilla. Love that crazy creature! :) Thought Id bring a little bit of Marshall Islands history to you all.
