GOD’S BIBLE MYTH BUSTERS ( Jim & Liz Lopinto ) BIBLE STUDY TITLE - “ MISTAKES WE MADE ( AND CORRECTED , BY GOD’S GRACE “ ) In Bible School , ( 1967 to 1970 ) as I recall , their were only about 3 or 4 students in the entire school , ( besides me ) that had a DAKE’S STUDY BIBLE . This school in Pennsylvania , ( a 3 year school ) did not emphasize the fact , that there was an entire denomination , that believed the Bible Like Finis Dake did . For the entire 3 years , the only other contact with the CHARISMATIC Church , was that we would sometimes hear about the PHENOMINAL Success of a man named T . L . OSBORN . Other than this , I am not aware , that any student of Teacher , had any further Knowledge about , or thought their was anything special about CHARISMATIC Bible Teachers , or Teachings ! So then , I must conclude , that all of the students and Teachers , were apparently just as ignorant about most of the FACTS , about the CHARISMATIC Branch of the Church , as Liz and I were . So , for about 17 or 18 years after our graduation , I continued to think , That DAKE & I , ( were the only 2 people I knew of ) that were REALLY Into “ rightly dividing the Word “ as all Born Again Christians ought to be . My only other contact with a student of DAKE , was , as I watched Jimmy Swaggart on Christian T V . As I recall , my next contact with any CHARISMATIC Teachers , was “ accidental “ as I felt led to go to hear LARRY TOMCZAK , ( a former Catholic like me , ) at one of the “ Jesus Festivals “ we sometimes went to , over the years . The next thing I recall , was watching , ( for the very first time , ) KENNETH COPELAND on Christian T V , & thinking “ WOW , I don’t know what it is , but there is something really different , ( in a good way , ) about this guy “ . So then , like FRED PRICE , we spent about the same number of years ( 17 or 18 ) in other denominations , BEFORE we came in contact with ( significantly ) CHARISMATIC Teachings , & realized their more Scriptural Foundation. Then , in 1985 , we heard SHERMAN OWENS on Christian radio . AT LAST , here was someone who was CONSISTANTLY Teaching the rightly divided Word of GOD , as it was always meant to be Taught ! I recall , being led to get a book on the subject of Bible Interpretation & going to a fairly large Bible Bookstore in search of a good book . THEY DIDN’T HAVE ONE ! ( They said “ I can special order one “ ( ???????????? ) As I recall , I had in my Cassette collection , about SIX TAPES , that I thought contained any ABOVE AVERAGE Bible Teachings ( after about 15 years of hearing literally THOUSANDS of Sermons in the various ( traditional ) Pentecostal Churches we went to ! ) One of the first clues , that the Church in general was in serious trouble , was when the book “ the Seduction of Christianity “ came out , & proceeded to become a “ Best Seller “ in Christian Bookstores . When FICTION , is perceived as “ Fact “ in Christian’s minds ( as it was with the Pharisees and Sadducees minds , when JESUS was on Earth , nothing GOOD can come of it , ( until people REPENT ! ) Seeing the “ success “ of this book ( by Dave Hunt & T. A . Mc Mahon ) others were eager to jump on the bandwagon to “ literary success “ with similar books . Personally , ( since I had been taught MORE SCRIPTURAL TRUTH , in 6 months , on SHERMAN OWEN’S , 15 minute a day Radio Broadcast , than I had learned in the previous 17 to 18 years as a Born Again Christian , ) I was APPALLED , by this kind of IGNORANCE in the Christian Church ! Since there simply is NO ( Legit ) SUBSTIUTE , for Born Again Christians , ( & Christian Leader ) for personally learning the BIBLE Principles , ) for Correct Bible Understanding , any Christian not making this a priority in their lives , will eventually find themselves “ drinking the cool aid “ ( of TRADITION ) spiritually speaking ! ( You may recall Pastor JIM JONES , leading 900 some of his followers , into drinking POISON laced “ Kool Aid “ , that killed them ! ) So , even though these writings , may seem “ strange “ to you , it is our prayer , that you will see the WISDOM , in them and like the great Bible Teacher FRED PRICE , ( after about 17 years in other Denominations , ) YOU will REJECT all of the ANTI – CHARISMATIC Hype , in the Church World today . AMEN ! PLEASE , do yourself & your Family , a GOD ORDAINED Favor , & take the time to watch this Video , by the Excellent ( & World Famous ) Bible Teacher CHARLES CAPPS .
