GOD’S BREATH MAKES THE DIFFERENCE July 14th, 2013 QUOTE OF THE DAY: “EFFORTS WITHOUT GOD’S BLESSING ENDS IN FUTILITY” Memory Verse: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” Acts 1:8. According to the book of Genesis, man was mere lifeless clay until the breath of life came into him from God. What does this breath of God really mean? It connotes life, blessing, and the spirit of God. Sometimes it is called the wind of God. This breath enhances spiritual agility. It facilitates creative inspiration, produces insights, offers divine direction and makes service to God meaningful and acceptable. According to today’s memory verse, Jesus knew that the jumping out of the disciples into ministry work without prior endowment with power could be suicidal. Hence, His instruction in Acts 1:4. Until your plans and efforts contact the fresh breath of God, you may end up as a swinging pendulum that makes no progress. Have you not observed that a rolling stone never gathers moss? Much activity without much spiritual agility (fresh breath of the Holy Spirit) ends up in futility. ‘The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted…’ Luke 4:18. Thus, it is this breath (the Holy Spirit) that carries the anointing. It enables you to perform. Success is not by struggle; life will be hard without God’s fresh breath. When God breaths on you, He pours on you fresh fire and fresh oil. Even Jesus had to receive a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit before He could make impact in His earthly ministry. This breath must come on you every day. When it does, He keeps you updated, relevant, inspired, keeps you constantly in tune and in spiritual shape with God. You can contact this breath daily. First, make yourself available for it in righteousness and in obedience. Before you step out on a daily basis, soak yourself deeply in praise. Digest and absorb the right dose of God’s word. Finally, live in such a way that God will be happy with you. Your life will not expire, you will not go into extinction in Jesus name. DIVINE INSTRUCTION FOR THE DAY ANOINT YOURSELF AND YOUR THINGS WITH OIL. DECREE INFLOW OF GOD’S POWER TO THEM. THIS WILL BE YOUR EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THIS WEEK. PROPHETIC PRAYERS Wind of God, move over me afresh now in Jesus name. Oh Lord, grant me grace to live in ways that will command God’s attention.
