GOD’S PERFECT GIFT HILLSIDE HELPS-“He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. Which were born, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1: 10-12) The grandest of all gifts was given as an act of the highest form of love, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son…” (John 3:16a) This gift came with eternal benefits because it is a saving love … “that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16b) This love Gift is underserved and for the most part, unwelcomed, “He came unto His own and His own received Him not.” (John 1:11) This love is everlasting and enduring throughout eternity, “for God is love” (1 John 4:8) This love was shown at a time when sinners could not understand it, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Ro. 5:8), and is demonstrated in a way that men could understand and comprehend it, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us…” (1 John 1:16) If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, this love is effectual and life changing. It comes to us as a gift wrapped in the miracle of regeneration, “Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”(John 1:12) “This particular love makes it possible to love God, “We love Him because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) When we are lavished with this life changing love it becomes possible to love one another in the same way that God loves us, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (1 John4:7-8) Today I pray that you know God’s love and you have experienced the miracle of regeneration through the birth that is from above. Jesus is God’s gift for the underserving sinner. I pray that you will know the assurance and peace that salvation brings to troubled hearts. Just as Jesus is God’s gift, so is the eternal salvation He provides. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Ro. 6:23) As Christmas day fast approaches, please know that the gift is available to “whosoever believeth in Him”. I pray that you and your family will have a Christ-Centered Christmas. I love you in Christ. (Bro. Jerry McNeer)
