GOING ON TONIGHT: Dinner Lecture Series: Russia Today with Katia Levintova, Associate Professor of Public and Environmental Affairs Thursday, September 26, 2013, 6:00 pm Phoenix Rooms The largest country in the world, Russia spans two continents and 9 time zones. It is characterized by amazing diversity — permafrost and subtropical climate, traditional culture and some of the most modern technologies, European and Asian historical influences, indigenous people and recent immigrants, to name just a few. Russia is also famous for its hospitality, which is showcased in its cuisine. Gathering/Cash Bar: 6:00-6:30 p.m. Dinner and presentation 6:30-8:00 p.m. $29 per person Menu: Salad – Russian Potato Salad: a blend of Russet Potatoes, carrots, egg, garden peas, sliced black olives tossed in a vinegar mayonnaise base dressing Soup – Borsch: a hearty Beef and garden vegetable stock with potatoes, beets, onions, and carrots form this classic Russian dish Entrée – Beef Stroganoff, Cabbage Roll, Noodles with Field Mushrooms Dessert – : To be announced Register at: uwgb.edu/outreach/dinner/
