URE refers to the eyes inability to focus images onto the retina. The most common types are myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopic (farsightedness), and astigmatism. Refractive errors can be detected through a professional eye exam and the most economical treatment of URE is eyeglasses – but for many struggling families, glasses are out of reach. Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) through Lions Clubs members address this through SIGHT FOR KIDS, Eye screening, issuance of prescription eyeglasses and other treatments in Partnership with Johnson N Johnson Vision Care in PARTNERSHIP with District 301-A1 Lions Clubs, medical personnel and Manila Public Elementary Schools teachers & school nurses.
