GOOD MORNING CHELSEA FAMILY Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed on Tuesday that Chelsea had sent an agent to talk to Serie A Club AS Roma about a possible summer transfer. The famous pink Italian newspaper claim that Jose Mourinhos Chelsea have thrown their hat into the ring for much wanted defender Mehdi Benatia. Manchester City were linked with a move for the defender for some weeks and reportedly made a bid for him, having it refused, Gazzetta say the same has happened with Pep Guardiolas Bayern Munich who they claim has offered €33m. To make matters more complicated they also say that after having their first bid refused, Manchester City have returned with €38m. Roma, according to the newspaper, still dont want to sell but thats becoming hard to believe, especially given that the player himself has made it clear hes not overly keen on staying. Benatia has rejected a new contract offer from Roma which will push the clubs hand a little. Its not known if Chelsea will also bid but as the figures are getting higher it surely becomes less likely, Mourinho has other priorities. Should the price come down then it would be more likely.
