GOOD MORNING PEEPS AND PEEPETTES AND THE USUAL BUNCH I received some news yesterday that concerns me greatly. I cannot go into specifics nor can I actually mention names. However, those of you that are "Older" will understand probably a lot better than the kiddies on here. In life, it used to be that if you did a good job, and pushed yourself to be the top of your profession, and took whatever classes and or training that came your way...you did it, just to make yourself a better person and make you better at what you did. You did it because you had a drive within yourself to "be the best you can be" (thanks Army!) And by doing so, you hoped that those in management over you, would look at your accomplishments and when the opportunity arose, maybe they would consider you for advancement. Thus, you would not only progress on your journey, but the system would benefit from your level of expertise and would benefit also from you being there to attempt to improve and fine-tune the skills needed to make your organization the best it could be. Alas, that is not the case anymore. It seems that the less qualifications you have, the better you are to fill a management position. Whatever happened to searching for the best, most qualified, educated, top of the class person to fill positions that are of prime importance, in the development and maintenance of any top notch business? I share the disappointment of many who see within their own organizations, a lack of vision for the future and a lack of commitment to those who dare to strive to be on top.
