GOOD MORNING WORLD! Many of my non Walmart friends probably wonder why my first (usually) posts in the morning start with those words. 5 days a week, for the past 6 or seven years, and longer than that in some form, those are the words I uttered over the radio every morning as I walked through the doors into Walmart to start work. They were never more important to me than in the last three years of working there, as I went through four surgeries in 13 months, culminating in the cancer diagnosis, surgery and recovery. I had much to be thankful for. Those three words were my source of daily inspiration, put a smile on my face, and helped me through the day. What I didnt realize, was how inspirational those words had become to the Walmart family I left after Kat passed away. I will never forget that last day I uttered those words over the radio on the morning of Jun 26, 2013, or the feeling of peace in my heart, still warm from the memory of walking into Walmart holding hands with the love of my life. Some months ago, a good friend told me of how much she missed hearing those words, of how much they put a smile on her face, even if only for just a little bit, of how they often helped carry her through the day. That conversation reminded me of how uttering those three simple words, no matter how stressful the day was going to be, put a smile on MY face and got things going in the right direction. So now that, as Paul Harvey would say, is the rest of the story. After an evening of wonderful conversations I woke up with this song playing in my soul. I know Ive posted this song before, but over the years, it has, like GMW, become a mantra for me. I love playing the driving beat on my guitar, I have the title etched in stone in my living room. It calls to mind the simple things in life, and the love of God. What will you do today to serve your supreme being, your conciousness? For me its simple. Through serving you, in support and love, I Will Serve the Lord. That fills my soul and heart with the love to make it through the day. PEACE.
