GOOD NEWS! Philippines elected to UNESCOs World Heritage Committee The Philippines has won a seat in the recently concluded UNESCO World Heritage Committee election in Paris. The country is among the 12 new members of the 21-member committee responsible for the implementation of the World Heritage Convention. This prestigious arm of UNESCO is responsible for the listing and delisting of world heritage sites. Aside from the Philippines, other new members of the committee include Croatia, Finland, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Lebanon, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and Vietnam.
