GOOD NEWS from Shorewood Schools! Shorewood High School is among the top 5% nationwide and was named one of the top ten high schools in Wisconsin by U.S. News and World Report. Enrollment continues to increase as families throughout the region recognize Shorewood School District as one of the best in the state. Over 40 co-curricular activities and 23 sports are offered at Shorewood High School for student participation. Dominic Newman was named one of the Brooks 2014 Inspiring Coaches of the Year for his work with Shorewood High School boys cross-country and track and field. Band students were invited to perform at Northwestern Universitys Band Day. Shorewood High School was the only band chosen from Wisconsin and they were able to perform 3 songs at halftime during the Northwestern football game. The Shorewood Drama program was once again recognized for excellence with multiple Tommy Awards for Outstanding Musical, Director, Lead Performer, Dance Performer, Stage Management, Choreography, Sound, Scene, and Light Design, and Costume for their productions of West Side Story and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The Shorewood School District continues to Exceed Expectations with scores up in all areas, according to the new district report card data released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The District improved in all four categories, including Student Achievement, Student Growth, Closing Gaps, and On-Track and Post-secondary Readiness.
