GOOD look at what the storms have done in the Tahoe Basin for the ski areas there. By the way.....there are some really great ski areas here. And not just the big mega resorts like Squaw and Heavenly. If you enjoy the small feel of Mt. Ashland Ski Area and Mt. Shasta Ski Park, then you should check out Boreal, Homewood, Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak, Bear Valley, and Dodge Ridge. Also, while not listed here.....Donner Ski Ranch is a very good local area. It is next to Sugar Bowl and just one ridge over from Boreal. I learned to ski at Donner Ski Ranch. All of these small areas I am talking about here offer great skiing and riding. But, they are MUCH lower in price than their big time resort neighbors. The views at Homewood Mountain Resort, and at Diamond Peak Ski Resort rival ANY in Tahoe.
