GOUVS DEVOTIONAL Theme: WHAR HAVE YOU HEARD? Text: Heb2:1-4 SCRIPTURE READING: 1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; 4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? MESSAGE The ear is a sense organ designated for hearing the word (Rom10:17b). There are many types of word but the greatest of all is the Word of salvation(2Cor6:2) Its very true that whatever you hear has a lot to play in what you speak, paul the apostle understood that been an ambassador for christ is not by mouth but by taking heed unto oneself,unto the doctrine of our lord Jesus christ,continuity in doing them,examplinary life of the believers in word,conversation,charity,spirit,in faith and in purity(1Tim4:11-16) What you have heard affects your life and people around u either positively or negatively,are you an impurity(pollutant) to your environment or you are purtiy(distilled by the blood of Jesus)? All these above determines what you have heard. In 1Tim4:11, paul the apostle told Brother Timothy to teach and command those thing which he has heard which are the words of salvation,God is telling you and I to teach all these words too that we have heard but do you still have the word of salvation you have heard in you,because if u dont have it,nothing to teach. In conclusion, you cant teach when you dont know,you cant teach when you have not heard. What you have heard determines what you will teach,what you teach determines your salvation too(1Tim4:16). SHALOM PRAYER: God purge my heart from false teachings that have heard and I receive the word of truth today so as to teach others and to continue doing them. ACTIVITY: After meditating on these words,pray and teach somebody on the topic(Salvation),dont mind how u will teach if u have not teach before because God will put his words in your mouth jst like he did for Jeremiah.
