@GOVERNOR_AHMED TURBANED AS THE FIRST JARMA OF KAIAMA Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State was yesterday in Kaiama, Headquarters of Kaiama Local Government Area of the state, turbaned as the first Jarman of Kaiama by the Kaiama Traditional Council. The Tafida of Kaiama, Alhaji Nurudeen Mohammed who spoke on behalf of the Kaiama traditional council said the chieftaincy title was in recognition of the governor’s contributions to humanity particularly Kaiama Emirate. Alhaji Mohammed also a former Commissioner for Finance in the state, explained that the council deemed it necessary to honour the governor for his doggedness and selfless service to the emirate in order to encourage him to do more for the entire state. The governor in his remarks expressed gratitude to the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Sheu Omar and the entire Kaiama Traditional Council for the honour, describing the chieftaincy title as a royal endorsement. According to him “my turbaning as the Jarman of Kaiama is a surprise, a royal endorsement that I will always value and cherish. Today is, no doubt, a day of joy for myself and my family. “Having successfully completed the flag-off of Kaiama – Kishi Road and commissioning of the General Hospital, I consider it a rare privilege and honour to receive the traditional title from His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kaiama”. The governor further said: “I am aware that with this title, I have automatically become a warrior for the community, an arrow head of the palace and a member of the Emirate. I humbly place my services at the disposal of Your Royal Highness, the Emirate Council and indeed the entire people of Kaiama area. “I pledge to serve all our people to the best of my ability to justify your confidence in me”. He therefore enjoined the people of the ancient town to continue to embrace peace to further enhance deliverance of democratic dividends across the state.
