#GOVERNOR_BENJAMIN_CHEBOIS views on the killings.On his facebook page he says; I learnt of the brutal killing of Peter Kokon and his son at Kasiela with profound shock, regret and disbelieve. This and other happenings leading to the senseless loss of life are to say the least disturbing and unacceptable. Until his murder, Mr. Kokon was an industrious, peace loving Kenyan who was playing a lead role in bringing peace between the people of Baringo. I strongly condemn the killing of Mr. Kokon and the recent ambush and injury of our police officers on patrol near Tangulbei and ask the National Government and the security apparatus to act swiftly to bring all the perpetrators of this and each and every barbaric atrocity to book; and to speedily restore security in troubled areas of our County. I call upon all residents of Baringo to desist from acts of violence and not to involve themselves in matters that may perpetuate insecurity. Let all of us embrace peaceful coexistence. Let us remember that peace is key to our collective prosperity. In coming together, let us promote healing and cohesion in our county. Lets us all be steadfast in defending our brotherhood, our land and the splendor of our heritage. I also take this opportunity to send my most sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Mzee Kokon. May the Lord God Almighty be the source of their strength and comfort during this difficult time. To the injured security men, I wish them a quick recovery.
