CLEARS HURDLES FOR EASTERN PERIPHERAL EXPRESSWAY The government has now approved up to Rs 1,800 crore in financial assistance for eastern peripheral expressway (expressway that connects Sonipat & Faridabad via Ghaziabad) to make it viable for developers. The decision to provide financial assistance or viability gap funding (VGF) was taken at a meeting of the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) recently. Earlier, the Cabinet had decided zero VGF for the 135-km project.
