GOVT TO TABLE BILL TO CURB ABUSIVE FACEBOOKERS Abusers of social media, especially the popular Facebook, could soon find themselves on the wrong side of the law as Government intends to present to parliament a draft of the Electronic Records Evidence Bill of 2014. The Bill will make it easy for those insulted or defamed on social media to present electronic records to court as evidence. The Bill which was published in the Government Gazette last Friday, is expected to be tabled by the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security Dikgakgamatso Seretse in the near future. Since the current laws only allow the admission of documentary evidence, the new law would also make it possible for records produced by an electronic records system to be tendered in as evidence in legal proceedings. *mo ke botseno strait
