GRACE AND APOSTLESHIP TO...PART 2 TEXT ROM. 1:5 KJV-By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: JMB- through Whom we receive (received; took with the hand) grace and a sending off with a mission (apostleship; ambassadorship) into Faith’s obedience (submissive hearkening; a giving of the-ear beneath; compliant listening) within all the multitudes (the nations; the non-Jewish ethnic groups; the Gentiles) over (for the sake of; in behalf of) His Name, It is important we further amplify our text for accurate comprehension which lies at the root of every functional application. Paul says we have received grace and apostleship. In our previous meditation on this text, we briefly mentioned what grace and apostleship mean: but here we shall take the pain of doing a little detailed explanation. WE HAVE RECEIVED GRACE: every man in Christ is a recipient of the grace of God...we have access into Gods mercy by grace. An act of grace is the impactation and imputation of righteousness where there is none by God. our righteousness is from God: God, out of His mercy, considered us righteous before Him without any act of goodness from us. This is what is meant by us receiving grace from God. WE HAVE RECEIVED APOSTLESHIP: Apostleship on the other hand means, the act of bearing forth a message. It is to run an errand for a person. Ambassadorship is another word for apostleship. So, the part of the text under consideration could be paraphrased thus: JESUS HAS MADE US RIGHT AND JUST FREELY AND COMMISSIONED US TO GO TELL OTHERS ABOUT HIS LOVE. We maintain that all believers in Christ are men and womenwho have received mercy and commissioned to carry the message of Jesus to all nations of the earth. Grace and apostleship are inseparable: but grace comes before apostleship. This order must not be tempered with. Whenever God wants to send a man, He first gives him His grace: by this, we mean, He imputes righteousness to that man, justifying and making him pure before Him. Grace gives birth to apostleship. Grace that amounts to no apostleship is no grace at all. If God has saved a man then that man becomes an apostle automatically. A man does not need to wait for a special exclesiatically ordination before He goes to preach the gospel: by his new birth he is invested with an apostolic garment to preach what he knows about Jesus....TO BE CONTINUED,
