GRAND JURY RETURNED CHARGES IN SCARF ROAD HOMICIDE By Nancy Bowman DDN TROY, Oh. --- (December 4, 2014) A 25-year-old man has been indicted on four charges stemming from the death of Joseph R. Graley III , 31, whose body was found behind his Scarff Road residence Oct. 23. Frank Bowen, 25, a former Tipp City area resident, was indicted Monday, Dec. 1, by a Miami County Grand Jury on charges of murder, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse and safecracking. He was served with the charges Thursday, Dec. 4. Bowen has been in the county jail since his arrest on a probation violation shortly after Graleys body was found behind the house in Bethel Twp. near the Miami-Clark County line. Graley had been reported missing by a friend the previous evening. The body was partially covered by debris, investigators said. Graley suffered blunt force trauma, county Coroner Steve Huffman said. Bowen was an acquaintance of Graley and had been staying at the residence a couple of weeks after returning to the area from South Carolina, sheriffs Chief Deputy Dave Duchak said. County Prosecutor Tony Kendell said Thursday he could not comment on specifics of the allegations against Bowen.
